NOTES

  1. NormalBuilder is a preprocessor for Dymore. The relationship between the two codes is described in the NormalBuilder-Dymore interface.
  2. NormalBuilder performs the through-the-thickness analysis of plates made of heterogeneous, anisotropic composite plates. The plate's through-the-thickness configuration is defined by a lay-up LayupName. NormalBuilder will analyze this specific lay-up. If several lay-ups must be analyzed, distinct input files must be used.
  3. The central solution of the problem is expanded in polynomials up to order Oexp. (Default value: Oexp = 3.)
  4. The mesh density parameter, dmesh, determines the number of elements used in each layer of the lay-up. For dmesh = 1, one element will be used for the layer with the smallest thickness. (Default value: dmesh = 1. 1 ≤ dmesh ≤ 12)
  5. The elements use linear, quadratic, cubic, or quartic shape functions, corresponding to oelm = 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. (Default value: oelm = 3. 1 ≤ oelm ≤ 4)
  6. It is possible to attach comments to the definition of the object; these comments have no effect on its definition.
