Vertex definition

  1. A vertex is the most basic topological entity. It is used in the definition of the other topological entities, the edge and the face.
  2. The vertex is associated with a geometric component, a point, PointName. Optionally, it is also possible to associate the vertex with a triad, TriadName.
  3. It is possible to attach comments to the definition of the object; these comments have no effect on its definition.


Sensors can be defined to extract information about vertices. The following SensorType and associated FrameName specifications are allowed for vertices: ACCELERATIONS_0, DISPLACEMENTS_0, CONFIGURATION_0, and VELOCITIES_0. (Default value: DISPLACEMENTS_0).

No u value or v value values are accepted for vertices.
